C3B- Collaborative Core for Cancer Bioinformatics (Cancer Center Members ONLY)

Overview of Services (Cancer Center Members ONLY)

The Collaborative Core for Cancer Bioinformatics (C3B) is a joint bioinformatics core between the Purdue University Center for Cancer Research and the Indiana University Simon Cancer Center. The core strives to provide state-of-the-art bioinformatics support. The facility is designed to be highly flexible in order to meet the needs of multiple users employing a range of assays from a wide range of disciplines. Our experienced staff are highly skilled and will work closely with each investigator to provide services through all project stages.

The C3B services include experimental design, grant and publication submission, and data analysis.  The C3B provides the following bioinformatics services:

  • Omics cancer study design: We will use our expertise to work closely with investigators on experimental design to help you maximize your experimental success.  We are pleased to offer complementary initial experimental design consultations.
  • Omics data analysis: We will provide expert services on omics data analysis, including but not limited to RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, DNA methylation, single cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq), scATAC-seq among others. We can also conduct integrative studies using multiple omics datasets to identify the pathways and biological processes or help investigators to further explore the molecular mechanism underlying the study of your interest.
  • Public domain cancer data integration: In order to test your hypothesis, we work with investigators to use data mining and machine learning techniques to re-analyze publicly available omics datasets, e.g. TCGA.
  • Support grant applications and paper publicationsWe can help investigators in manuscript preparation by writing manuscript methods, depositing omics data to public databases (such as GEO), and interpretation of the results.
