The Ag Alumni Seed Phenotyping Facility is an automated system that will serve to facilitate plant growth experiments performed by dedicated and/or trained operators. The experiments will consist of small groups of plants that will be treated and monitored in accordance with each researchers activity plans and experimental design. Areas of study include, but not limited to, the effect of variation in environment, irrrigation, fertigation, genotype, chemical and mechanical treatments. The variaiton in plant phenotype will be observed and measured with non destructive advanced imaging equipment and manual observations both destructive and non destructive. Researchers will have access to an automated growth house in the facility connected to sensors via a plant conveyor system, as well as the ability to bring plants into the facilty from the Lilly greenhouse complex.
