Histology Research Laboratory - Center for Comparative Translational Research

Overview of Services

The Histology Research Laboratory, a core facility of the Center for Comparative Translational Research (CTR) at the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine as well as the Indiana Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI-Indiana), is a full service histology laboratory that provides tissue grossing, processing, embedding, sectioning and staining for soft and hard tissues.

 

 

Some services include:

  • Paraffin and frozen tissue histology
  • Hard tissue and mineralized bone histology
  • Special and Immunohistochemical staining
  • Whole-slide scanning and digitization
  • Rodent euthanasia and grossing
  • Customized procedures for users

Getting Started

To register for an account:

  1. In the upper-right-hand corner of the screen, click 'Register' and 'Register using Purdue credentials’.
  2. You will be directed to an authentication page where you will need to enter your Career Account credentials.
  3. Once you have entered your credentials, click the ‘Login’ button
  4. You will be directed to an iLab Registration page where you will need to select your PI/Lab, and verify your contact information.
  5. Once your registration has been submitted, your PI will receive a notification that you have requested membership to their lab in iLab. They will need to approve your membership and assign any Account String for your use.

If already registered:

  1. Click 'Sign In' in the upper right hand corner and select Purdue under ‘Sign in using Purdue credentials’. (IMPORTANT: On initial login, set your account time zone, click 'update', then log out once to set the change.)
  2. Once on the core's page, click the 'about our core' tab to learn more about the core.
  3. Equipment can be scheduled under the 'Schedule Equipment' tab. First-time users do require previous training.
  4. Services can be ordered by creating a 'Service Project' under the 'Request Services' tab.
