Research Machine Shop: Precision machining services for unique, one-of-a-kind, research, lab, and classroom projects. Supply all forms of machining; milling, turning, grinding, drilling, etc, including CNC and standard operations. All forms of Welding/Fabrication; welding, cutting, grinding, bending, etc. Large stock of materials for projects and student needs, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, plastics, etc. Available to all University departments, but also to students and outside laboratories. Shop has existed since 1947 under the name Central Machine Shop until 2012 when name was changed to RMS.
